Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's Champions League match with Lyon tomorrow night, Raul Albiol has admitted he has his sights set on the tournament final.
"It is possible for us to reach the Champions League final. We know the road is long and perilous," he told realmadrid.com. "In order to win titles a team must be very demanding with itself and work hard."
The former Valencia man went on to warn his team-mates that unlike domestic league competition, there are no room for errors now that Europe’s premier club competition has reached the knockout stage.
“The league title rewards consistency because you have to be in good form for 38 rounds. On the other hand, a mistake in the Champions League could be very costly.
"Reaching the next round is pointless if we fail then. We must reach the very end and we will give our all to achieve this."
Finally, the Spanish international admitted the Merengues would have their work cut-out if they are to overcome the Champions League stalwarts in France tomorrow night.
