In an exclusive report by Madrid sports daily Marca, Roberto Carlos has expressed his desire to return to Real Madrid to help Los Blancos win their tenth Champions League trophy.
With Portuguese central defender Pepe out for the season with an ACL tear, Madrid have reportedly been interested in signing a left-back, allowing Alvaro Arbeloa to switch to right-back and Sergio Ramos to switch to centre-back should either Raul Albiol or Ezequiel Garay be unable to perform their duties in the centre of defence.
Roberto Carlos made it clear that should Madrid seek his services, he would love to return to the Spanish capital for one more go at the Champions League trophy. The Br azilian is currently under contract with Turkish side Fenerbahce until the end of the year, after which he has a verbal agreement in place to return to Br azil to play for Corinthians alongside former Real team-mate Ronaldo. However, according to the left-back, if Real Madrid came calling, "I would leave right now".
Roberto Carlos won 3 Champions League trophies during his time at Real Madrid but his last season with Los Blancos was a tumultuous one. He was embarrassingly beaten within the first 30 seconds of Real Madrid's Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, effectively dumping Los Blancos out of the competition, but he is still widely considered to be one of the best left-backs in history.
