ATLETICO MADRID 4 REAL ZARAGOZA 0

Atletico took the lead in an open encounter when Diego Forlan put Luis Garcia through to score in the 10th minute and Maxi Rodriguez's floated pass allowed Forlan to lob Cesar for the second in the 35th.

Argentina forward Maxi went down for a penalty in the 63rd, and scored from the spot as Atletico dominated, and in the final minute bagged his second and Atletico's fourth from a tight angle.

GETAFE 2 REAL MURCIA 0

Getafe took the lead when striker Kepa Blanca scored with a diving header in the 55th minute, and five minutes later midfielder Francisco Casquero powered into the area to score the second.

Kepa was sent off in the 68th but Michael Laurdrup's side hung on for their first league win of the season.

REAL BETIS 1 RACING SANTANDER 1

Striker Xisco gave Betis the lead when Racing failed to clear a long throw into the area in the 63rd.

Racing had the chance to level when Betis defender Juanito was sent off for a foul in the area, but Jorge Lopez missed the ensuing penalty in the 76th. Lopez made amends poaching an equaliser with three minutes to go.

RECREATIVO HUELVA 0 REAL MALLORCA 2

Mallorca striker Daniel Guiza raced through on to Borja Valera's pass and flicked the ball over the keeper in the second minute, and 11 minutes from time striker Tuni's long-range effort made sure of the side's first away win.

VALLADOLID 1 ATHLETIC BILBAO 2

Valladolid were set on their way to a fourth consecutive defeat when Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz scored from a tight angle in the ninth minute.

He doubled the lead with a header from a freekick in the 32nd. Valladolid pulled one back from the penalty spot through Victor in the 70th.

Played Saturday:

Depor pulled one back when striker Xisco scored from close range as the defence dallied in the 29th but Joaquin crossed for striker Fernando Morientes to head Valencia's third in the 38th. Morientes headed their fourth from Silva's cross in the 73rd.

Depor's Equatorial Guinea striker Rodolfo Bodipo struck two minutes from time to make it 4-2, and Valencia had defender Ivan Helguera sent off at the end.

ESPANYOL 2 REAL MADRID 1

Spain winger Albert Riera headed home a corner after two minutes to put Espanyol ahead and in the 52nd Spain striker Raul Tamudo lobbed goalkeeper Iker Casillas from the edge of the area for their second.

LEVANTE 0 SEVILLA 2

Sevilla's Br azilian striker Luis Fabiano received a pass from Daniel Alves with his back to goal and spun to fire the opener in the seventh minute before scoring from a penalty in the 14th. The win ended a run of four defeats for Sevilla.

VILLARREAL 3 BARCELONA 1

Villarreal tore into Barca and took the lead after three minutes when winger Santi Cazorla raced on to a backheel from Guillermo Franco to score.
