Robben Seeks English Advice Over Injury Woes

Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben is likely to travel to England to seek further advice over his recurring muscular problems that are ruining his spell at the Bernabéu.

Robben suffered another muscle pull in his left leg in training earlier this week, having previously been ruled out since the 14th December with a similar injury.

The most recent pull will see him out for another two weeks and Robben is thought to be desperate to find the root of the problem as soon as possible.

With Real's own doctors unable to find a viable cause for the injuries, Robben looks likely to fly back to England to meet up with specialists who treated him during his time at Chelsea.

The current train of thought is that it may be Robben's back that is putting extra strain onto his leg muscles due to the short strides he takes when running.

Jonathan Woodgate suffered similar problems when he was at Real Madrid and since returning to Middlesborough he has largely overcome the problem.

Another theory is that the recovery from the knee surgery that Robben had last season caused his left-leg to become stronger than his right, thus causing an imbalance that is leading to the injuries he continues to pick up.

Real will be hoping that the English specialists are able to solve Robben's injury woes as they are yet to see much of a return on the €36.5 million fee they paid Chelsea for the Dutchman's services in the summer.
