Real Madrid chief Butragueno not bothered about Barcelona Champions League hopes

Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno insists no-one at the club is concerned with how Barcelona will go in the Champions League.

It was put to Valdano that it would be a good outcome if Barca won in Europe and Real the Liga title.

"I want Madrid to win the league, it is our desire and obligation to finish a season of many surprises and suffering for the fans by bringing joy," he said.

"What happens in the Champions League is what has to happen. We do not want wish evil on Barcelona, but we have our goals and the League is where we should be focusing."
