As reported by Marca, Real Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez Blanco will miss the rest of the Liga season, with his participation in Saturday's 2-1 win against Zaragoza being his last of the campaign.
The Blancos captain will miss four weeks with an ankle sprain that has affected his ligaments, effectively ruling him out for what remains of the Liga season.
"Raul will be out for a minimum of four weeks, thus ruling him out for the rest of the season. News like this will be difficult for the morale of all the team's players, but they are all fighters," said Real team doctor Carlos Diez.
Raul made his return from a knee injury at Zaragoza, only to become re-injured after a clash with Edmilson. The captain scored a crucial goal for his side after sustaining the injury before being subsituted for Karim Benzema.
Raul is Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer in club history. In a recent press conference, he declared that he did not want to retire from football, but hinted that his future may lie away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
