Antonio Adan was delighted to keep a cleansheet on his Real Madrid debut last night.
The goalkeeper was called up after Jerzy Dudek suffered a fractured jaw in the first-half of their 4-0 Champions League victory over Auxerre.
"I was grateful to the fans when I first entered the field," said Adan. "I could feel their love."
"The truth is that it was a shame my debut came due to an injury to a teammate. Especially as Dudek was having a great game."
"During the break I saw Iker Casillas and he approached me. He said that I looked calm and was ready for it. These words from the best goalkeeper in the world left me very happy."
