Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out move to Russia

Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has cast a certain degree of doubt on his future at the Spanish giant by claiming he would not rule out a move to the Russian Premier League.

"Why not?" he told Sportbox.ru. "I know that the Russian football championship is becoming stronger and I have no objections to someday be playing in your country."

The Portugal international, who joined the Liga club from Manchester United for 94 million euros in the summer of 2009 was speaking at the global premier of the Castrol EDGE presents ' Ronaldo Tested to the Limit' documentary in Madrid.

Samuel Eto'o recently surprised the world of football by leaving Inter to join Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer.

"In football, you never know what will happen. So if I end up in Russia, one shouldn't raise his eyebrows in surprise," Ronaldo said.

However, the forward looks unlikely to depart the 2010-11 Copa del Rey winners anytime soon, confirming, "At the moment I'm quite comfortable with Real."

The 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year has made an impressive start to the new Liga campaign, scoring four goals in two appearances against Zaragoza and Getafe.
