The Spanish midfield orchestrator joined the Los Blancos last summer from Malaga and he got off to a flying start to life at the European champions. However, Isco struggled to continue his early season form and he was dropped by Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian favoured Luka Modric, Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso ahead of the Spaniard.
To make matters worse, Ancelotti strengthened his midfield even more with the signing of Toni Kroos this week, which has put Isco’s future even more up in the air. With James Rodriguez also a target for Madrid, Isco seems set for the exit door sooner rather than later.
Liverpool could be set to rescue the 22-year-olds uncertain future and they are believed to be keen on the young talent. Brendan Rodgers has more than £75 million to spend after the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and the Northern Irishman is keen to make a marquee signing, after missing out on Alexis Sanchez.
Rodgers has already recruited Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic in the forwards department, however, Isco would be a significant statement of intent.
