Flush with the cash from Angel di Maria's sale to Manchester United, Real Madrid are launching a late bid for AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.
L'Equipe says Real are reactivating 'Operation Falcao' and willing to offer €60 million to prise the Colombian away from ASM.
Real officials were in Monaco yesterday, meeting with the player and ASM officials at a local hotel.
Along with the straight cash bid, Real also submitted an alternative proposal: a season-long loan for €12.5 million with the option to buy Falcao outright for €45 million.
Today, in Monte Carlo, the 'Best Player in Europe' ceremony will be held. Attending will be Monaco president Dmitry Rybolovlev, Real Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez and Falcao's agent, Jorge Mendes.
