Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno claims six per cent of the world's population are Madridistas.
Butragueno was speaking at a 'Madridismo without borders' event.
"According to our research, we can speak about 450 million fans throughout the world," he said.
If the world population is estimated at 7,500 million people, the estimate means six per cent of the population are Madrid fans.
The club also claimed that Madrid fans are present in 186 of the 193 countries in the world.
