Terry Gibson believes Gareth Bale needs to improve his game out of sight to maintain his current position at Real Madrid.
The Welsh winger, 25, has been heavily criticised in recent times for not getting involved enough for the European champions and Gibson feels he has to rediscover the Tottenham form that landed him a £85.3million I the summer of 2013.
" Bale's not helping himself in terms of getting in positions," ex-Spurs and Manchester United forward Gibson told La Liga Podcast.
"It can happen in some games where the wide player doesn't get the service, but it won't happen at Real Madrid."
"With (Toni) Kroos, (Luka) Modric and Isco in midfield, there's enough to suggest you're going to get the ball."
" Bale has to do more. It's slightly irritating seeing such an athletic, supremely gifted footballer on the periphery of the game. He does need to get involved a lot more."
