Real Madrid defender Ramos frustrated with Atletico stalemate

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos admitted some frustration after their 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal.

Real enjoyed the better of the early stages at the Vicente Calderon, but ultimately had to make do with a share of the spoils to set up a dramatic shoot-out at the Bernabeu next Wednesday evening.

"We come away with a bittersweet taste in the mouth, because we didn't get a goal to take a lead into the return. Madrid had control for practically the whole match, though the second half was trickier," said Ramos.

"We have to draw positive conclusions. It was a really taxing, intense match against opponents who always make things very difficult, and at a ground that's always tough to go to."

"In the end we've come away with a 0-0 draw and with the advantage of playing the second leg at the Bernabéu in front of our home fans. We urge the fans to go and support us and experience a unique atmosphere to try to get through to the next round."
