Javier Hernandez was Real Madrid's hero as they defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second-leg of their Champions League semifinal.
Chicharito, on loan from Manchester United popped up in the 87th minute to finish from close range 11 minutes after Arda Turan saw red after picking up two yellow cards.
Hernandez, only playing due to an injury to Karim Benzema, missed a host of chances in what was a typically tight game, but could not miss after he was played in by Cristiano Ronaldo to keep the La Undecima dream alive for Los Blancos.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti said afterwards: "Everything went well because the team were tuned in. I'm not taking anything away from Atlético. We were up against a very strong side that don't give you chances. I have a lot of respect for this rival. The play very well defensively."
"I was looking for a performance like that, with us controlling the play, patiently looking for ways to split them open, and avoiding any problems with counter-attacks or set pieces. Everything went to plan, the team were in control throughout the match."
