Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has admitted he doesn't know if David de Gea will arrive at the Bernabeu, as he hinted Keylor Navas would be his No 1.
De Gea has been repeatedly linked with a move from Old Trafford this summer, although Real have been reluctant to meet Manchester United's valuation or include defender Sergio Ramos in any part of the deal.
Costa Rica international Keylor Navas has been starting in goal during Los Blancos' pre-season tour of the US, which included winning the International Champions Cup with a 4-1 defeat of Manchester City, with Benitez suggesting the former Levante No1 was central to his plans.
Asked whether he saw Navas as a first choice, Benitez told reporters: "I think so, yes. We wanted to give him the chance to play and prove himself, and he has done well."
"I only need one goalkeeper in each match and, as long as I have one, I'm happy."
Asked about De Gea, he said: 'I don't know. He is not here and I don't know "
"I don't speak to [Manchester United manager Louis] Van Gaal every day."
Meanwhile, Benitez rebuffed any suggestions that star players such as Ramos and Karim Benzema - who is a reported target for Arsenal - would be leaving the Bernabeu.
Spain defender Ramos would only say 'Now there is less time,' when asked by reporters when he planned to discuss his future.
