Denis Cheryshev is expected to stay at Real Madrid this season but the feeling is Marco Asensio would be best served leaving on loan.
AS reports the outcome of the meeting between Los Blancos and Cheryshev’s agent on Monday, with the decision to keep the winger at Santiago Bernabeu.
Villarreal and Liverpool were hopeful of taking Cheryshev for the season and the player wanted to go in order to get first team football and earn a place in Russia’s Euro 2016 squad, should they qualify.
But after the meeting, Cheryshev is content to stay at Madrid for 2015-16.
AS also report that Madrid are of the belief that Asensio’s development would be accelerated by a spell at a good club where he can play 30 or more games.
No suitors are mentioned, however, and the final decision rests with the player, but Madrid don’t want the starlet, signed from Real Mallorca, to spend too long on the bench.
