Alvaro Morata has reitetrated his desire to stay at Juventus, even though his former club Real Madrid is reportedly interested in re-signing him.
Spanish forward Alvaro Morata is flattered his former club, Real Madrid, are reportedly interested in re-signing him, though he’s happy playing for Juventus.
The 22-year-old played in 20 matches for Juventus last season and scored 13 goals, including their only strike in last season’s 2-1 Champions League final loss to Barcelona. That contribution has reportedly piqued Real Madrid’s interest in re-signing their former starlet.
Getting Morata back might not be so difficult for Real Madrid, either, since his Juventus contract has a €30 million buy-back clause.
"It’s true that my contract says that I have the option of going back to Real Madrid, but certain situations transcend what is written on paper," said Morata, who is currently training with the Spanish national team ahead of a Euro 2016 qualifier against Luxembourg on Friday. "A team has to consider the happiness of a player, too."
However, Juventus believe they will keep hold of Morata, especially given he has emerged as one of the team’s most prolific scorers and after scoring against Sevilla on September 30, Morata equaled Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero’s record five-game Champions League scoring streak.
