Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema two short of 100 goals for Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have scored a combined total of 98 goals this season.

Popularly named BBC, Real Madrid’s attacking trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema are only two short of a century of goals for the club this season. The previous combined best for the trio was 97 in the 2014-15 campaign.

The three stars have scored a combined tally of 78 goals this season, two more than their last campaign in La Liga alone. They will have the chance to set the record in the upcoming Champions League final against Atletico Madrid on May 28th where they will need to score two goals to reach the record.

With Ronaldo exhibiting exceptional form and finding the back of the net more than 50 times for the sixth consecutive year, this task is seen as a piece of cake by a lot of fans who are looking forward to the Champions League final.

Frenchman Benzema has scored 28 goals while Bale has 19 for the club this season, reaching their personal bests for both the players at Real which further eases the task for the trio.

Out of the 78 goals scored by the trio, Ronaldo had netted 35, 13 fewer than last season which earned him the Pichichi award as the top scorer in Spain`s top division that year. Bale’s tally of 19 is also remarkable considering the number of game he’s missed this campaign through injury.

Benzema is usually overlooked as he did not cost a record fee when he moved to Real despite having consistent scoring seasons, but he was sidelined for 94 days due to injuries missing 13 matches.

After taking over at the club Zidane said that he will play all three players as much as possible. 'I will always play with the three of them, that's definitely the plan.”

With the Champions League final around the corner, Zidane will now make sure that his attacking trio is in top form as he prefers a 4-3-3 formation, especially in big matches, to let the BBC exploit their options on the pitch.

When a member of the BBC is unavailable, Zidane uses Jese Rodriguez or Lucas Vazquez as their backup options, in order to sustain the 4-3-3 formation.

The Frenchman had earlier also compared Bale to Ronaldo after scoring the goal against Rayo Vallecano in April. As Ronaldo had missed the game due to injuries, the Wales international took to his role with ease and impressed Zidane.
