Zinedine Zidane is looking for new signing this summer to reinforce the squad. The midfield, a left back and a new strikers are Real Madrid priorities right now. However, the French coach also wants the best professionals around him and he’s trying to get Olympique de Lyon’s physical trainer, Antonio Pintus.
According to Foot Mercato, Zidane is working to get Antonio Pintus into his team. Pintus (53 years old) worked with Zidane at Juventus several years ago and has a lot of experience in football. He worked in several French, Italian and English teams (Marsella, Monaco, Udinese, Juventus, etc). The last one in the Premier League was Sunderland and now he’s suppose to start working for Olympique Lyon next season.
However, Real Madrid is trying to get him on board in the new project. It’s Zidane’s personal request. Currently, the main responsible for the physical status of the squad is Bernardo Requena, who will continue working at Real Madrid.
The French coach is very concerned about the muscular injuries Real Madrid suffered last season. Overall, there were up to 26 muscular injuries during the season 15/16. It was a big issue in the last year and almost every single player suffer some issues.
Actually, Florentino Pérez blamed Ancelotti about all the injuries suffered two years ago, but this aspect hasn’t been solved with Rafael Benítez. With Zidane’s arrival, the French coach planned hard training sessions in January to avoid this problem but it wasn’t very efficient. For instance, Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema were injured just some days before the Champions League final. A major problem this season for Los Blancos who would like to solve in the future.
