Chelsea launch audacious raid for influential world-class attacker

Chelsea have reportedly had an audacious loan bid for James Rodriguez snubbed by Real Madrid.

The Mirror claim the Chelsea made the cheeky offer but were knocked back by the Galacticos.

It's suggested Real would prefer to offload the Colombian star permanently.

Rodriguez has fallen down the pecking order at the La Liga giants since the arrival of Zinedine Zidane.

He made 32 appearances for Real last season, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists – but was dropped for the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.

Zidane claimed earlier this week that Rodriguez's situation at the Bernabeu was difficult.

“James is a Real Madrid player. When I answer these questions, it feels as though I want him to leave " he said.

"But he is a Real player and he is under contract "

"It's true that he has played less minutes and that can be a problem "

"I always try to make every player feel important. James is the same as the others.”
