Real Madrid will fight Manchester City for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if they get transfer embargo lifted

Real Madrid have joined Manchester City in the race to sign highly-rated Borussia Dortmund frontman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Despite being hit with a transfer embargo, which prevents them from doing any business for the next two transfer windows, Real have made the Gabon international their number one target.

City boss Pep Guardiola showed interest in the 27-year-old in the summer, before he eventually opted to stay with Dortmund.

Real will get a first-hand look at their new rumoured target when the Spanish side face Dortmund in the Champions League group stages on Tuesday.

If Madrid can get their transfer embargo lifted, Aubameyang will become a main priority but City are also expected to renew their interest in the striker once the window reopens.
