Borussia Dortmund may well have seen an exodus of key players this summer but the wheel keeps on turning and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is as dangerous as ever ahead of Real Madrid’s trip to Germany.
Alongside Marco Reus, he is Dortmund’s main attacking threat and Los Blancos will have to be wary of his qualities tonight.
He has carried his exceptional form from the first half of 2016 into the new season having already netted six goals in all competitions and the 27-year-old will be up against an injury ravaged Madrid defence.
What makes the former AC Milan forward stand out is his speed and power, two qualities that give defenders across the globe nightmares. He netted 25 goals in 31 appearances last term and is already on course to at least match that as he enters the prime years of his career. It will be an interesting matchup for another reason too with the reigning African Player of the Year having made no secret of his wish to pull on the white shirt of Real one day. That is however a matter for the future with the forward’s principle focus being how to cause as many problems as possible for Los Blancos’ defence.
