Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has hailed midfielder Isco for his starring role in Saturday’s demolition job of Real Betis.
Los Blancos headed into the game under some pressure, after drawing four games on the bounce for the first time in a decade.
However, Zidane’s side looked nothing like a side who were apparently lacking confidence, as Isco – starting just his third La Liga game of the season – inspired his side to a 6-1 win.
Isco looked silky throughout at the Estadio Benito Villamarin and scored a wonderful fifth goal for Real Madrid on the night.
Speaking ahead of the home game against Legia Warsaw on Tuesday, Zidane was full of praise for the midfielder despite speculation that a lack of minutes means he may be forced to leave.
"He's an important player," Zidane told reporters on Monday. "You will concentrate on one player, but he is always working well."
"He knows where he is and the difficulties, but he works hard and I'm happy with his performance and his goals. He is important and I like him".
