A sensational report in the UK press today suggests a potential blockbuster swap deal between Manchester United and Real Madrid may take place.
Today's Sun says Manchester United may be ready to let starlet Anthony Martial leave the club, and two Spanish giants may be willing to take him off their hands.
The paper reports that the young French striker could be sold in the summer unless he starts to fire in the goals and they also claim that Jose Mourinho has his heart set on swapping him for under-used Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.
The Colombian ace is not getting regular game time at the Bernabeu and while he is sure to have many offers if he does leave Spain, he may fancy working with Mourinho again, according to the paper.
The report also says that Barcelona may re-ignite their interest in Martial if the Red Devils decide to put the youngster on the market.
Martial signed for United for £36m in the summer transfer window of 2015 but the Sun claims that he could be sold for close to £60m, or swapped for Rodriguez, in the summer window next year.
However, today's Mirror claims that Martial's parents have moved to Manchester to help the 20-year old focus on his career and make a success of his spell at Old Trafford.
While Martial was one of the few who shone in Louis van Gaal's last season, he has struggled to make an impact under Mourninho.
He did score twice in the EFL cup in midweek, taking his tally for the season to four in 14 appearances.
