Right now, Varane has no plan of departing from the team and wants to ensure that he brings the best play to the pitch.
Real Madrid player Varane admitted recently that he really thought leaving the club after he was repeatedly sidelined in multiple games. However, a few good words from Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane ensured that Raphael Varane found his right place in the club.
At Santiago Bernabeu, Varane was sidelined by the then manager Carlo Ancelloti and struggled to make positive impact under Zinedine Zidane.
Speaking to reporters, Varane said, "I needed to know what I had to do to get playing time. Zidane told me things clearly, notably that I was important to him. We left on good terms."
"The president and the coach told me they were going in my direction. I put my head to the handlebars and I worked before and during pre-season. I don’t forget that Real Madrid is a big thing. And I don’t forget that I’m only 23, even though I’m finishing my sixth season here," he added.
