Atletico Madrid face a defensive injury crisis ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid next week.
Real Madrid host Atletico in the first leg of their semi-final on Tuesday, with a reverse fixture at the Calderon eight days later.
But Atletico manager Diego Simeone faces a race against time to get his defenders fit for the clash.
That is after right-back Jose Maria Gimenez was pulled off 67 minutes into Atletico’s 5-0 win at Las Palmas.
The full-back appeared to suffer a muscle injury and limped off the field before being replaced by Thomas Partey.
Unfortunately for Simeone, he is already without recognised right-backs Sime Vrsaljko and Juanfran for the Bernabeu showdown.
And that will force the manager into some defensive changes.
AS suggest Stefan Savic is the likely man to come in on the right hand side to face Cristiano Ronaldo on Real’s left flank.
It is also suggested midfielder Koke could move back to the position.
Atletico will likely know today or tomorrow the extent of Gimenez’s injury and Simeone would ideally like to wait on that news before making a decision on a replacement.
Atletico have lost to Real in two of the last three Champions League finals, having last reached Europe’s elite club competition final in 1974, where they lost to Bayern Munich.
