Paris Saint-Germain would be ready to pounce should Gareth Bale leave Real Madrid to accommodate the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, according to Spanish paper AS.
The paper reported that Monaco star Mbappe has been told one of Real Madrid's 'BBC' trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Bale will leave to make way for his arrival at the Bernabeu.
And Bale, who was left out of Madrid's starting XI for the Champions League final in favour of Isco, looks set to be the fall guy.
A poll conducted by the paper concluded that 42 per cent of Madrid supporters believe Bale will be sold by Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Perez has been instrumental in Madrid's efforts to sign Mbappe and is keen to assure the 18-year-old that he would be a key player for the Champions League holders.
PSG themselves were interested in Mbappe but the Ligue 1 giants now look set to miss out on his signature and they will turn their attentions to Bale, who made just 19 league appearances in a 2016-17 season disrupted by injury.
Bale previously ruled out a move away from Madrid but his manager Zinedine Zidane was less certain as he claimed the club will 'see for next year' over the Wales international's future.
