Reports in Spain claim that Alexis Sanchez and his agent are ‘desperately’ trying to organise the Chilean a transfer to Real Madrid.
The performance against Chelsea proved a lot of different things to Arsenal fans. The team was organised, combative and looked more than capable of mixing with the best teams in the league.
The result also proved that Arsenal can manage without the likes of Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez whose contracts both expire at the end of the season.
Özil missed the match with an injury and Sanchez failed to make an impact after coming off the bench as a substitute during the second-half.
The Chilean may not have even been at the club right now if things had gone differently on transfer deadline day.
Sanchez was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City about no deal could be reached and now, reports suggest that the 28-year-old is planning a different move.
Diario Gol claims that Sanchez is now desperately rallying his representatives to organise a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
Los Blancos currently sit fourth in La Liga after a poor start to the season but would surely be strengthened by the arrival of a player like Alexis Sanchez.
It’s unclear how much truth is in these rumours but the move does make some sense. Alexis Sanchez will be joining one of the biggest sides on the planet, Real will be getting some much-needed offensive reinforcement and Arsenal will be pleased with the player moving abroad. If the Gunners can get some decent money from Real in January then this deal could be worthwile.
