Neymar moving to Real Madrid very bad for football

Rumours of Br azilian superstar Neymar joining Real Madrid are reaching fever-pitch.

The former Barcelona forward is currently injured after injuring his ankle late last month, but reports suggest that the 26-year-old Br azilian star is disillusioned with life at Parc Des Princes as his time in Paris has been fraught with controversy. He has been embroiled in confrontations with teammates such as Edinson Cavani and has been said to be personally disappointed with the inferior quality of the French Ligue 1. He only joined Les Parisiens last summer in a stunning £198m deal but is now pushing for a move back to Spain with Real.

The Daily Mail reports that Real are prepared to pay a whopping £357m deal with Real supremos having met with his father. Neymar moving to Real Madrid will see football officially become a sport that has no emotional attachment whatsoever as players can do anything they want just to get more money. It is also reported that Nike, the sportswear giants will be ready to help Madrid bankroll the deal. The Spanish giants are currently kitted out by Adidas in a deal that is worth £40m per season and is set to expire in 2020. Nike want to sponsor the Champions League holders, and will use the arrival of Neymar to push the deal. It is a big web of manipulation that shows that football has gone past the accepted levels of just trying to entertain the fans.

Despite PSG giving Neymar all that he wants, the player has still not respected the club by flirting openly with a direct rival for Champions League glory.

He has been petulant, choosing his matches and generally above authority. It feels that the Qatari owners are just so happy to see a genuinely gifted player strut his stuff for their club. His statistics in the PSG shirt have been nothing short of extraordinary as he posted 29 goals and created a stunning 17 in just 30 matches. While Real Madrid will benefit from having two super players in Ronaldo and Neymar, it will not offer the smaller clubs that don’t have the financial clout of these clubs the same opportunity to win trophies. Whatever happened to a team of 11 players being determined enough to topple bigger teams?

By getting all the best players, the gap will become wider, and there won’t be any form of upsets available, except on rare occasions. Despite playing for Real’s bitter rivals, Barcelona for four years, Neymar is not in anyway averse to playing for Real Madrid despite the potential hatred from the Barcelona faithful. He won all there is to win at Barcelona, but left for PSG to step out of the shadows of Lionel Messi. The fact that his club lost both legs of their Champions League first knockout round to Real Madrid shows that there is still a gulf in quality between the traditional teams in Europe and the nouveau-riche.

The money in football at the moment is too much, but for these rich clubs, they will do anything just to remain at the top, not caring for fair competition and whose ox is gored.
