Real Madrid looks ready to move on from striker Borja Mayoral this summer. After the Spaniard said he wanted more regular playing time, the Madrid board has started looking for a suitor for him.
Borja Mayoral was not the depth striker fans and manager Zinedine Zidane had hoped for in 2017/2018. After having fantastic depth striker like Alvaro Morata and Mariano Diaz the season before, Mayoral was tasked with filling in some very big shoes.
His numbers were average at best in limited time, as he scored four goals in league and Champions League play all season. Following the end of the season, Mayoral voiced his unhappiness in the Spanish capital saying that he needs to receive more regular minutes.
Due to his lack of impact off the bench, the Real Madrid board seems content to let the striker go. It is very likely he will remain in Spain as the two teams most interested in the 21-year-old are Real Betis and Sevilla, according to Marca.
New Sevilla manager, Joaquin Caparros, is looking for fresh faces to help rejuvenate a side that greatly underperformed this past campaign.
Wissam Ben Yedder was the best striker Sevilla had last season, but many fear that the Frenchman could leave in favor of a bigger team this summer.
