Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari —who was announced as an interim coach when Los Blancos decided to sack Julen Lopetegui, will stay as the manager of the first team at least until the Christmas break, according to a report from MARCA.
Solari has apparently earned the trust of the board and the players as well after the three wins the team has earned with him in charge. However, it’s clear that Melilla, Valladolid and Viktoria Plzen were teams Real Madrid simply had to take care of, so it’s too soon to decide whether Solari deserves to stay for the rest of the season or not.
MARCA’s report suggests that Los Blancos will stay pay close attention to the market this winter in case a good coach suddenly becomes available. Potential targets could be Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Roberto Martinez or Jose Mourinho. For the time being, Santiago Solari is their man, though.
