Transfer rumours

PSG star is priority over Kylian Mbappe as Real Madrid sources SLAM World Cup hero

Neymar remains the transfer priority for Real Madrid despite reports also linking the club to PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe.

Neymar has been tipped to leave PSG for Real Madrid ever since Cristiano Ronaldo jumped ship to Juventus back in the summer.

The Br azil international is supposedly unhappy with life at the Parc des Princes, having been left underwhelmed by life in the French capital since leaving Barcelona in a huge £200million transfer in 2017.

Neymar has long been the great goal of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who has admired the 26-year-old ever since his days in his homeland with Santos.

Also linked with a move to the Bernabeu, though, is PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.

It has been a whirlwind 18 months for the 20-year-old.

Mbappe fired Monaco to the Ligue 1 title in 2017 and then did the same with PSG in his first season in the capital.

And he then followed up those heroics by propelling France to World Cup glory in Russia this summer.

However, Ok Diario say Real Madrid would still prefer to sign Neymar, despite Mbappe’s breathtaking development.

And they quote insiders from Los Blancos as saying: " Mbappe only knows how to run."

"You have to see how he controls the ball and how it happens. He has a lot to improve yet."

"Neymar knows how to run, knows how to stop the ball, knows how to haggle."

"That is good, although it is very difficult to get him out of there [PSG] because the Qatarians [PSG’s owners] would see it as an offence."

Ok Diario add Neymar must put pressure on PSG to leave.

And, until he does that, then the Ligue 1 giants are likely to ward off Real Madrid over their star performer.

Neymar is currently on his winter holidays with PSG next in action against Stade Pontivy in the French Open on January 6.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, face Villarreal in La Liga on January 3.
