Florentino Perez thinks Ronaldo's move to Juventus was a big mistake

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly believes that the decision to move Cristiano Ronaldo to Serie A giants Juventus was a big mistake.

Ronaldo said goodbye to the Bernabeu in a big money transfer to join the Italian outfit last summer. The Portuguese ace departed after having won Real Madrid's third consecutive UEFA Champions League title.

The move came as a shock to the football world as well as fans worldwide, who were left wondering as to why the 33-year-old departed.

A few months after the move, Ronaldo confirmed that it was Florentino Perez and the relationship between them that has led him to make the move.

In an interview with France Football, he said, "I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start."

"The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean."

Since his move to the Serie A, Ronaldo has established himself as a reassuring presence in the Juventus squad, helping them to their best start in the league. The former Manchester United forward has netted 14 goals for the table toppers so far this campaign.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid lie on the other end of the spectrum, struggling in the absence of the Portuguese's goal-scoring abilities. The European Champions have already sacked a manager following a series of bad results and have since given the reins to Santiago Solari.

A report in Tuttosport now claims that the Los Blancos president believes that the decision to let the club's all-time top scorer go was a big mistake.

The publication claims that although Perez will not admit it, he has regrets about his refusal to block Ronaldo's exit.

Real Madrid are undoubtedly struggling without a confident and efficient presence in front of goal and the club's refusal to bring in a worthy replacement has caused even bigger problems.

The Los Blancos side currently sits at fifth place with 30 points in the league standings, ten points away from their rivals Barcelona, who sit at the top.
