Chelsea open to bargain Eden Hazard sale but Real Madrid consider free transfer in 2020

Chelsea are ready to sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid THIS MONTH in a £99million bargain deal.

That is the sensational claim coming from Spain this morning as Real Madrid continue their pursuit of the Belgium international.

Chelsea are desperate to keep Hazard, having successfully kept him away from Real last summer, and have offered him £300,000 a week to stay.

But the playmaker has spoken about his interest in moving to the Bernabeu in recent weeks despite appearing settled for now under Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

Hazard’s current contract expires in 2020 and Chelsea are sweating over what to do with him.

An agreement on a new deal appears a long way off, meaning the Blues could lose him for nothing in the summer of 2020.

And Spanish newspaper AS - based in Madrid - claim Chelsea have set an asking price for Hazard.

According to the report, the west London club are ready to accept a £99m (€112m) cut-price deal for Hazard.

And they could do the deal this month if it means not losing money on their prized asset.

It is understood Chelsea are chasing a figure closer to £150m but Real don’t seem willing to play ball.

They know that with each month that passes, the fee Chelsea can command for Hazard drops.

Hazard has excelled under Sarri this season and the manager’s appointment was one of the reasons he chose to remain at Stamford Bridge over the summer.

But Real Madrid have spots to fill in their squad heading into the rest of this season.

They have failed to adequately replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Real for Juventus in a £105m deal after the World Cup.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale could both be on their way out in the summer, while Isco is almost certain to leave.

Manager Santiago Solari may not stay in the post past the summer, with Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho earmarked as president Florentino Perez’s top candidates.

Perez is tipped to secure a Galactico signing before the start of next season, with Hazard and Tottenham sensation Christian Eriksen two men on his radar.

But the chance to secure Hazard this month is tempting.

Real are chasing a fourth straight Champions League crown and Hazard would be eligible to play for them in Europe during the knockout stage.

Solari is also trying to rescue a disastrous season in La Liga, with Real currently sat fourth - in the last Champions League qualifying spot.

Back in October Hazard said: “Real Madrid is the best club in the world.

"I don’t want to lie, it is my dream since I was a kid. We will see."

"I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time, but we will talk about my future soon."

"It is also when you have a dream and you want to make it happen."

"It is like I have said a lot of times: if I leave I will be happy, I know if I stay I will be happy."
