Real Madrid have told Brahim Diaz they have no intention of sending him out on loan

Real Madrid's only business in the January transfer window was bringing in exciting Spanish youngster Brahim Diaz from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old was viewed in high regard by Pep Guardiola, but felt he would get more game time back in his homeland.

So far, that theory hasn't exactly come to fruition, managing just 24 minutes of action in all competitions.

Diaz has only featured for eight minutes in La Liga, which came in the 2-1 win away at Real Betis.

As such, reports from Spain in the week stated that Real may look to loan out the versatile youngster in order to get some game time.

Competition in the wide areas up front is pretty rife, with Gareth Bale, Vinicius Junior, Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio seemingly ahead of the teenager.

However, Spanish publication AS are now reporting that Real have responded to the rumours and have informed Diaz that they will not be looking to loan him out anytime soon.

They've given two reasons for their decision.

Los Blancos firmly believe the Spain U21 international is ready to be a key member of Santiago Solari's squad.

Secondly, they feel that training week in week out with the senior members of the squad will prove hugely beneficial to his progress, regardless of competitive minutes earned.

With Real still active in three competitions, it's highly likely that Diaz will get game time when Solari opts to rotate his side.

Given the fact that Los Blancos meet Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey semi-final, Diaz's best chance is likely to come in the club's remaining La Liga games.

Solari's side have improved their league form in recent weeks, but still stand little chance of catching Barca at the top despite the Blaugrana's 2-2 draw with Valencia last night.

It could mean Solari experiments more in the league, allowing the likes of Diaz, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente some priceless minutes.
