Real Madrid willing to let Sergio Ramos go for €100 million

Real Madrid will let team captain Sergio Ramos go if he brings an offer around €100 million, according to reports from MARCA and AS.

The defender wanted to leave the club as a free agent to join the Chinese league but his current contract expires in 2021 and Madrid will not let him go for free, according to club president Florentino Perez.

A similar saga happened last summer when Cristiano Ronaldo tried to get a contract extension with Real Madrid, ultimately forcing his way out as soon as the player realized that Los Blancos were not going to match the kind of salary he felt he deserved. When Juventus offered €100 million, Madrid let Cristiano Ronaldo leave.

Ramos signed his current deal back in 2015 and rumors suggested that he was going to join Manchester United. Back then, Madrid decided to solve the problem by giving Ramos a contract extension, something which could very well happen again this summer if no club offers close to €100 million for Ramos, who is already 33 years old and might not have that kind of value in the transfer market. However, those reports from MARCA and AS indicate that Los Blancos just don’t want to extend Ramos’ contract.
