Chelsea appear to have accidentally announced the permanent acquisition of Mateo Kovacic through the club’s official app.
Sky Sports reported a few days ago that Chelsea had reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign the Croat permanently, bypassing the transfer ban in doing so.
After this news came out, all that remained was official confirmation from the two clubs of the move, which we thought we had when the below article came out on the club’s app.
However, it has subsequently been deleted and there’s no sign of anything on the official website. It looks as though someone has posted this article prematurely.
While it matters little in the grand scheme of things, it’s a schoolboy slip up from the club which will no doubt be leaving someone red-faced this afternoon.
Whether it’ll be reposted (for good) later today, or we’ll have to wait until early next week, remains to be seen. Either way, it’s safe to say it’s done.
