The defender will reunite with Julen Lopetegui.
Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon is set to join Sevilla FC on a loan deal, according to reports from As and Mundo Deportivo. Sevilla’s football director Monchi confirmed their interest in the young defender.
"We’re considering his signing, but that doesn’t mean we’ve reached an agreement," said Monchi when asked about Reguilon. Monchi was careful with the words he chose, but it seems that Madrid and Sevilla could announce the deal soon.
The Spanish left-back would reunite with former Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui, who was the first manager who gave him minutes in the first team. Reguilon completed some impressive performances and even earned the starting spot when Solari was in charge, although Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Spanish capital sent him back to the bench.
Furthermore, Madrid paid €50 million to sign French left-back Ferland Mendy and that means that Reguilon will just not have the minutes he needs to keep improving as a player. However, he has great potential and that’s why Los Blancos just want a loan deal to a club where he can have a relevant role.
