The former Chelsea man is gearing up for his first La Liga season.
Former Chelsea player Eden Hazard has been given the number 7 shirt number at Real Madrid, according to an image on the club's official website.
Much has been made on the number that the Belgian may take at his new club.
During pre-season, the player donned shirts with the number 50 on the back, in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landings. But now pre-season is over, a decision on the number that he will wear for the rest of La Liga season seems to have been made.
Hazard wore the number 10 shirt during his time at Stamford Bridge, however, that is already taken by Luca Modric, who doesn't seem to want to let the number go.
"I jokingly asked him if he could leave me No.10, he said no, I have to find another number," Hazard has previously said.
"For me the number is not important, but to play with this shirt, with this badge."
The number 7 shirt was worn by Mariano, however, on the squad list on the Real Madrid website, the Spaniard has been demoted to the 24 shirt, meaning that Hazard is free to take over his previous shirt.
Hazard will have a lot to live up to, with the number 7 shirt being the number that Cristiano Ronaldo wore before his departure to Juventus in 2018.
