Real Madrid set to complete two signings before transfer deadline

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane could welcome two more players to his roster for his side’s fixtures after the international break after a couple of weeks.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has had most of his transfers completed this summer. The Whites were able to welcome Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic over the course of the last few months. Rodrygo Goes was another arrival, but he will spend most of his first season with the Castilla side under Raul Gonzalez.

Signing a midfielder was one of the primary targets for the first team coach of Real Madrid, but the likes of Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek were turning out to be cumbersome deals. As a result, the Merengues have turned their attentions to signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon and a goalkeeper to replace the outgoing Keylor Navas, according to Fox Sports.

Bruno Fernandes was on the radars of Liverpool and Manchester United, but the Portuguese was not let go of by his employers after both the English teams were unwilling in matching their transfer demands. However, if Real Madrid are able to pay 70 million euros for Fernandes’ services then the Portugal international would be theirs in a matter of hours.

On the other hand, Florentino Perez is looking to strike a deal with Paris Saint-Germain over the transfer of Keylor Navas. The Costa Rica international wants to depart the club after accepting the fact that he will have to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois should he end up staying. As part of the agreement, it is expected that PSG goalie Alphonse Areola will move to the Bernabeu on a loan deal for one year.

Paris Saint-Germain won their match against Metz by a 2-0 margin on Friday night and Areola was on the bench in order to prevent an injury which would have potentially put the Keylor Navas signing in jeopardy from PSG’s perspective. Areola is apparently in Spain and could be a Madrid player by Monday if all goes smoothly.
