The Japanese superstar has already earned a lot of fans since joining Real Madrid in the summer.
However, due to restrictions with the amount of foreign players Real Madrid can use for the first team, Zinedine Zidane decided he could not include him in his squad.
Instead of spending the season with Real Madrid Castilla, Kubo was given the opportunity to play La Liga football with newly promoted Mallorca.
It's been a slow start for Kubo.
He made his debut for the club earlier this month, coming off the bench with 15 minutes remaining in Mallorca's 2-0 loss against Valencia.
He was again on the bench as Mallorca faced Athletic Bilbao on Friday night.
With the game 0-0 going into the final 30 minutes, Vicente Moreno sent on Kubo to try and be the match winner.
And he so nearly was as he produced his first real moment of magic in La Liga.
Just 15 minutes into his home debut, Kubo bamboozled an opposition defender with some quick feet and won a penalty.
Some great skill. Unfortunately, Mallorca were unable to take advantage as Abdón Prats missed the resulting penalty.
And Mallorca were unable to find a winner, with the game ending in a scoreless draw.
But it was still a promising home debut for Kubo. He looked dangerous going forward and may well have earned a spot in the starting lineup for Mallorca's next game.
He was even given the Man of the Match award despite only being on the pitch for little over half-an-hour.
"I'm really placed to have made my Son Moix debut," Kubo said after the game, per AS.
"I feel a sense of admiration from the fans and am anxious to pay this back on the pitch. My team-mates and back-room staff are all now like a family".
