Real Madrid are facing a defensive injury crisis after Ferland Mendy was ruled out with an abductor problem in his left leg.
The left back joined the La Liga giants in the summer following a £49million move from Lyon in the summer.
He arrived at the Bernabeu with a hamstring injury and missed the club's opening two clashes of the domestic season against Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid.
He made his debut in the 2-2 draw with Villarreal in September, but was clearly injured following Sunday's win over Sevilla, with a team photo inside the dressing room showing the Frenchaman with an ice pack strapped to his thigh.
Confirming the injury on Tuesday, a statement from the club read: "Following tests carried out today on Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he was has been diagnosed with an abductor muscle injury in his left leg.W
"His recovery will be assessed."
Real are also without their other left back Marcelo, with Nacho Fernandez likely to deputise in the absence of the pair.
