Dani Ceballos delivers Arsenal transfer blow in new comments while on international duty

Dani Ceballos has backtracked on comments that suggested he was keen to seal a permanent switch to Arsenal.

On-loan Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos and taken a step back from his comments that suggested a permanent exit from Real Madrid was a real possibility.

He had said earlier this week: "I don't feel sorry for not being there [Madrid]."

"I know what I have in my head and that was to play and enjoy playing."

"I am very happy in Arsenal, I played 10 games where I showed my best level. Now I am where I want to be."

The 23-year-old has now claimed that he doesn’t want people to think that he will actively pursue a move out of Spain, showing his loyalty to his parent club.

He told Radio MARCA: "What I meant to say, was When I do not play, I don't enjoy myself."

"I have learnt a lot in these two years at Real Madrid, but now I am enjoying my football."

"I knew that it was an important year, the coach [for Spain, Robert Moreno] has doubts and the one who doesn't play isn't going to be called up; it was a good time to go out on loan."

"With Unai Emery's confidence, I may have a chance of going to the Euros."

Although Ceballos made his desire to get into the first-team at the Bernabeu in the future, that doesn’t mean he isn’t happy to be at Arsenal, and he lavished praise on his manager and the fans earlier this month.

"I arrived on the first day and the respect they have for him is tremendous, he has turned around the club’s situation in just one year," Ceballos said.

"He has managed to compete and only just missed out on the Champions League, he almost won the Europa League."

"We’ve started well, just one defeat, third in the league and we are going up."

He added: "It’s strange, I arrived and in my first game they were already singing my name."

"I asked Hector Bellerin and he told me that they also sang it to Santi Cazorla."

"I’ve felt proud from that first moment."
