The young attacker spoke to the press after Real Madrid’s convincing 5-0 win.
Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo Goes, who scored his second goal for the club in just his third game, spoke to the press after Madrid’s solid and convincing 5-0 win against Leganes this Wednesday.
"We knew we were up against tough opposition and we had to get goals. We were able to make the game fairly comfortable. We had to put it to bed early on and we managed just that," said Rodrygo.
This was his second consecutive start for Real Madrid and it looks like Rodrygo could establish himself as a regular starter in that spot, at least until Gareth Bale comes back from his injury. Rodrygo joined the club this past summer but has already made an impact while showing great composure for a player who’s still only 18 years old.
"I’m thrilled with everything that’s happening to me. It’s all happening so fast. I have gained everyone’s trust and I hope that can continue. I’m happy playing on either wing. I started out right and then switched with Hazard. I play wherever they put me, I’ll play and enjoy myself regardless," explained the winger.
Rodrygo’s teammates also talked to the press and praised the Br azilian attacker.
"He’s growing fast and showing what a fantastic player he is. The coach has realised that he’s a crucial player and he’s doing a brilliant job whenever he gets time on the pitch. He’s a player who controls the play very well, he knows how to read the game and what he has to do with the ball," said Casemiro.
It seems clear that Rodrygo is now ahead of Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius and Brahim for the starting spot at the right wing, but nobody knows what will happen once Bale recovers from his calf injury.
