Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas will look to aid his former employers in a bid to bring in a promising youngster from Porto’s roster.
Iker Casillas left Real Madrid for Porto in 2015, but the goalkeeper will always be respected and remembered as a legend not just in the Spanish capital, but across the whole country. Casillas had a simply illustrious career with the Merengues and even though his farewell my not have been a sweet one, the goalkeeper is on good terms with his first club.
Currently on the books of Porto, Iker Casillas has been almost a regular for the Portuguese giants since his signing. However, at times he does passively work for Los Blancos by recommending them players from the Portuguese league as even though it is overlooked, the country does have a rich crop of youngsters.
As a matter of fact, Iker Casillas also played a pivotal role in Eder Militao joining the Whites this summer. The former Real Madrid goalie recommended the central defender to Zidane’s side in addition to also convincing the player into joining Real Madrid over any other suitor. El Desmarque claims that the Saint is once again on scouting duty.
The legendary goalkeeper has now suggested to his older recruits that they pursue a move for young sensation Romario Baro. The player will turn 20 in January but has tremendous quality and plays as an attacking midfielder, having confessed his love and idolisation for Real Madrid legend and coach Zinedine Zidane.
Romario Baro is currently plying his trade with Porto and has a release clause of 40 million euros. Should the Whites decide to scout him further, they will try to negotiate the Portugal-based outfit’s asking price as there is not much interest yet in Romario Baro, at least by top European clubs which usually compete for signings with Real Madrid.
