Arsenal have been told how much it will cost them to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on a permanent transfer as Mikel Arteta ponders a move following a season-long loan.
Arsenal's transfer of Dani Ceballos has taken a further step after Real Madrid told them how much he will cost them.
The Spaniard has had an indifferent season at the Emirates following a loan move last summer.
The midfielder has made just 24 appearances across the season with a mere 14 in the Premier League alone.
He has scored just once while also laying on two assists throughout the campaign.
Injuries have hit the former Real Betis ace hard as well, with a torn muscle bundle ruling him out for three months.
However, under Mikel Arteta the Spain international has found some form in recent matches.
And the Gunners coach could make a permanent transfer for Ceballos in the transfer window.
It could come about as a result of the coronavirus crisis that has decimated the footballing calendar.
The finances of clubs around the world have been hit hard as a result of the lack of revenue.
Big transfers in the summer are expected to take a toll, with sides unable to fork out the big bucks that had come customary over the past few seasons.
Real Madrid, despite their vast wealth, are no different and as a result, have had to alter their asking prices.
According to AS, Los Blancos have lumped a €50m (£44m) on Ceballos, which may be of interest to Arsenal.
However, whether the 23-year-old wants to stay at the Emirates beyond this season is another matter.
When asked if he wants to return to Real Madrid, he said: "Hopefully".
