Lucas Vazquez has revealed his love of the Premier League, hinting that curiosity could get the better of him and see him leave Real Madrid for England.
At 28-years-old Vazquez has had a superb career in Spain, winning three Champions Leagues and a LaLiga title after rising through the youth ranks and fighting his way to consistent game time in Madrid's star-studded lineup.
The Spaniard has made 201 appearances for his boyhood club's first-team but has only managed six top-flight starts this season and could be forced to move for regular starts.
"The dream is to retire at Madrid but in football, you don't know," Vazquez told The Guardian.
"When I was little, I always watched the Premier League with my brother. It was, it is, very attractive: a nice football to play, one that could fit my characteristics and personality well."
"I have a basis (of the language) already and I watch series in English, read a bit, study grammar. I've been doing it for a year and a half."
Chelsea are reportedly a potential destination if he does quit the Bernabeu, with wingers Willian and Pedro set to leave the West London club in the summer.
The Blues are a side on the up under Frank Lampard, with the young side progressing fast despite losing star man Eden Hazard last summer.
Vazquez's experience would be welcome at any Premier League side, having played alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos.
However, Madrid may be the best place for the Spaniard if he wants to add to his trophy cabinet: "Three Champions Leagues, a league title. Unbelievable. And I'd love to do it again."
