The Ligue 1 giants are the subject of interest from French-Tunisian businessman Mohamed Ayachi Ajroudi - who is targeting big-name transfer and managerial targets.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane are set to be targeted by Mohamed Ayachi Ajroudi should he buy Olympique de Marseille.
The French giants are currently owned by American tycoon Frank McCourt, but negotiations to sell the club to French-Tunisian businessman Ajroudi have begun, according to reports in France.
Marseille finished as runners-up in Ligue 1 last season and have secured qualification for next season's Champions League under the management of Andre Villas-Boas.
And Ajroudi has big plans to restore the club to the pinnacle of French football by bringing Juventus superstar Ronaldo and Real Madrid boss Zidane to the Stade Velodrome.
Discussing the style of football he enjoys watching, Ajroudi opened up on his admiration for Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
"I love football, especially the noble side of the sport," he told Le Figaro. "I like German discipline, especially Bayern Munich's. I appreciate Barcelona's football."
However, it is a player who holds legendary status with Barcelona's rivals, Real Madrid, who Ajroudi "dreams" of bringing to Marseille.
He added: "A player I'll never forget is Cristiano Ronaldo. I like respect and discipline and he embodies that."
"Do I dream about him at Marseille? Everything is possible in life. It's a dream that excites me."
And when Zidane was suggested as a potential coach for his would-be project, Ajroudi did not rule out a move for the Real Madrid manager, saying: "We'll see what happens in the future."
