Real Madrid are open to offers for Jesus Vallejo

The club would look to replicate a deal similar to Javi Sanchez and would insert a buy-back clause.

Real Madrid continue to prioritize operation salida, meaning they are looking to bring in revenue from the proceeds of player sales. According to a report from AS and Sergio Santos, Jesus Vallejo now finds himself dispensable. It was expected that the center back’s loan move to Granada would be extended for another year or he would potentially return on loan to Real Zaragoza next season, if they got promoted to the first division. After the Coronavirus outbreak, Madrid have been forced to change course.

The club ideally would like to sell Vallejo at a cut price in order to insert a buy-back clause into the deal. A fee of around €7-€8 million could be enough to seal the deal, although Vallejo’s salary remains a stumbling block for many clubs. Granada would be at the fore-front for his signature, if they can make the economics of the deal work.

There is still a small possibility that the defender remains with Real Madrid. If Nacho requests to leave — something not completely out of the realm of possibilities with brother Alex Fernandez now officially promoted to the first division with Cadiz — then Vallejo would stay as the fourth center back at the club. After spending €50 million on Eder Militao last summer, the club will not make a huge investment for a center back in the current market.
