Liverpool are keeping an eye on the situation regarding Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.
Bale’s agent, who spoke with Sky Sports, has stated that his client would like to leave Real Madrid this summer.
It was reported by Bailey that Bale is open to the idea of returning to the Premier League this season. Before making the move to Real Madrid in 2013, Bale represented Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Bailey, Tottenham Hotpsur owner Daniel Levy has told manager Jose Mourinho that the club could sign Bale. However, Bailey added that Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Bale. Bailey also stated that Manchester United are looking at Bale.
Bailey said that Real Madrid are prepared to fund part of Bale’s wages.
There is no denying that Bale is a very talented player. He was a key reason why Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final in Kiev.
Bale scored two goals in Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory. With that being the case, Liverpool supporters know how good he is.
In 251 appearances for the La Liga club, Bale has scored 105 goals and registered 68 assists.
Bale’s statistics provide a solid insight into why Liverpool are reportedly interested in the Welshman. He is a superb footballer who would add goals and assists to the current Liverpool team.
But, Bale’s agent has confirmed to Sky Sports that his client would like to return to Tottenham Hotspur. Bale could potentially join the club on loan.
That means that it is unlikely that Liverpool will sign Bale this summer.
